For this trip Deb and I met Mark and his family at Mammoth Lakes. It came after a harrowing journey up and over Hwy 120 through Yosemiite. Great vistas and sobering dropoffs. ... and almost burnt out brakes. Had a great dinner with the gang and some very cool hikes to the various lakes. Jett busted his elbow and needed a drone fix to cheer up. Those don't last, but it was good to see the smiles.

Long drive to Ely. Through the wilds of Nevada and eventually the comfort of a familiar park in the middle of nowhere.

What a great place to stay! Good food down the road in Virgin... (Balcony One)... or up the Dalton Wash to Black Sage. There is a vewry new Autocamp bery, very nearby. The resort provides a coach to Zion NP... and from the you walk. What a park! Getting up at oh-dark-thirty for the ~2 hour drive to Bryce NP was well worth it as we caught the sunrise - and it caught us. The images speak for themselves.

Been through here before. Portal RV Park is great. Super easy laundry, pull-through sites, and *quiet* Perhaps next time we will boondock at Dead Horse Point.

Mesa Verde RV Park in Mancos, CO is also a wonderful park. Great view of the Mesa... (which is very highly tilted BTW.). We took the early tour - luckily - as the weather turned and between rain and hail we made a short day of it. Food at the Loungin' Lizard in Cortez (just West) was awesome.

Taos was on the Flammer bucket list. Lost to see around Taos, but once seen... maybe we've 'done Taos'. there is a great Mexican restaurant - La Cueva. Best ever (until the next great meal).

Well, what can you say? Balloons, boondocking for four days, new friends and balloons. We visited the local balloon museum, a local mexican (are all the SW restaurants mexican?), took a balloon ride - 4 miles in one hour - and watched balloons. Yoda, Pink Floyd, cows, flying pigs, and lots and lots of balloons. The sight of a few hundred balloons majestic in the air at the same time... has to be experienced. Might be back; might not. Bucket list: check!

Williams was a surprize. Up in one of the the Arizona pine forests it had enough size to have restaurants as well as being in close proximity to the Grand Canhyon. We (again) lucked out with good weather. When the air in the Canyon is clear, it is one of the most amazing sights. Loke Bryce... you walk across a flat non-descript chaparell until you come to the edge of... well the edge of tens of millions of years of erosive history.

Just say NO. Horrible folks. Faltering entry gate keypad. Gale force winds and... yes, crappy site as the final insult. Just. Say. No.

Have not (yet) commented on this stop.

Marina Dunes is our close but fun stop. Carmel, Pacific Grove, friends... and, of course, food.,
